Urban Competition, Griffintown, Canada

re-hiding was the winning entry into Griffintown Interrupted Competition, an international ideas competition which invites speculation on temporary inhabitation, the urban potential of post-industrial lands, and the possibility of dynamic incremental architecture.

re-hiding engenders the re-use, re-cycling, re-distributing and re-generation of components of the existing territory. The project tile implies the creation of a new layer of skin on the existing building, and aims to regenerate the once uninhabited and underused pier to create a new urban gathering point as part of the transformation of Griffintown.
